During, Not After

I'd like to say these are "after" shots, but there is still a bit to do in the bathroom.

Here's the tile after one pass of peroxide on the subway tile.  Much better.
We may touch up some areas, but we got enough done to do some painting.

And here are the walls with color - Yarmouth Blue.
We've been pretty much sticking with Benjamin Moore colors and paint this go-round.
It really matches the subway accent tile well.

Trim still needs to be painted (Mama lost a little steam after a late night Sunday),
medicine cabinet door reinstalled, lights up (might need to do so shopping there) and
we need to figure out what to do with the towel bars and all the holes in the tiles from prior
installation of items over many years.  Plus we plan on adding a shower conversion kit.

So, a ways to go, but it feels much cleaner now.

What White?

We left the peroxide on the tile overnight and thought it looked pretty good this morning (oops, didn't take a picture of it yet.)

Then we got to work priming the walls since they were clear of wallpaper.

Mama cut in the edges of the ceiling and you can see how off-white the Acadia White paint looks next to the primer.  That's ok.  The white subway tile isn't so white either and once we get the walls painted and the trim done, it will look much more white.

Bath Beauty

Here's the subway tile "before" picture - yuck!

Based on some internet research, we decided to try using 40% peroxide to see if we could get some of the stains out.  So after a trip to the beauty supply we coated the wall and plastered it with paper towels and covered it all with plastic to keep it damp.  Then we applied the heat.

Warning - peroxide can turn your skin white!

So Cal Car

Mama went for a run this morning and came across this red beauty.  We finally live somewhere where you could make use of a convertible for more than one week a year.  Wouldn't this look great in front of Bungalow Twenty Two?
