Queen B

Crowned by CJ.

CJ's Summer Projects

The Doggie Daycare.  She started this project at the house, using the styrofoam from the new microwave.  She brought it back to the apartment so Cooper and Twinkle Peanut could enjoy all the rooms and the doggie treat area.  It's only $5/week so we plan on sending B there a lot this year!

The "Candy of the City" store.

This is one of CJ's more extravagant inventions.  She started a candy store on the coffee table.

She drew and cut out all sorts of candy and treats to buy from popcorn to chocolate bars to tootsie rolls.

Then she added credit cards and a machine to swipe it through.  This one keeps growing.

The Sun Adventures.

CJ wrote and illustrated this great book about going to the beach with Mama.

Of course it has an author's note on the back.

One night she made us all crowns.

Mama got the beach lover one.

Daddy got a special drawing, inspired by a Trader Joe's sticker.

And CJ even created a chart to track

How Mane Huming Brids We See

(How Many Hummingbirds We See)

Thank Goodness we brought pens and paper with us!

Oldie, but Goodie

Doing some cleaning in CJ's room today, we came across this beautiful picture CJ drew last month.

Easter Greetings

Bunny Hop 2012

Today we headed down to the Pearl District for the Annual Bunny Hop -

Luckily the weather held out for us.

Love Art

CJ noticed the heart shape inside this nut she found and created some "love art" to show it off.

Yoga Art

CJ told Daddy she was going to make him some art, but when he went to check on her work he found out that she'd made Mama this beautiful picture and she gave it to her when she got home from teaching her yoga class. You can see that CJ even wrote "Mom is teaching another person yoga" on the painting. Can you tell which one Mama is?

Food Folk

See the person in CJ's breakfast?

The Lot

Right Back at It

Even before breakfast, Crafty CJ was back at it:

We made heart pancakes - to stick with the theme:
Smile!:

February Love

We pulled out some leftover Valentine's supplies and CJ got right to work. She's making each one unique. Very nice!

Princess Painting

CJ painted this beautiful card for her friend's birthday. A sparkly, watercolor princess.

CJ's Creations

CJ created the dog (a pink poodle) and person in the middle. Mama added the sun in the upper right and the flower in the lower left.

Art Imitates Life

CJ came home from school this week with a little TV she'd created. When you turned the paper, it could look like a "T" or a "V". It also had a little remote taped to it.

But the revealing part was when you turned it over and it said "MAC". As CJ describes it, "It's a Mac TV. That's the brand."

Back At It

School is back in session and CJ is back making art. Here's a piece she did of her walking with Mama. Mama is wearing her bag over her shoulder (like I really do). There are two cars driving by. And yes, the sun is shining!

Detail Girl

Here's CJ working on a paint by number she received for her birthday. It's supposed to be for ages 8 and up, but she seems to be doing well with it.

Observant Girl

Much of Mama's short run with CJ on bike is along Bike Boulevards. On one of them we noticed that someone had a little fun with the paint.

We saw Batman:

Smiley Faces:

And even a bunny alien:

CJ's Latest Masterpieces

Here's one of Little B. CJ made sure to use the colors of the rainbow when writing the title.

And here's one CJ put together before dinner. It's a loft bed with a ladder on the left and down below there is a mirror and a dresser with different shaped drawers. There are letters on the drawers to show what goes inside each one.

Mama Daughter Art

CJ's on the left, with the balloon.

If Dreams Came True

CJ drew this the other day and it cracked me up. It's entitled Bella Eating Dinner. Look at how big the bowl of dog food is. Little B wishes it was that big!
