Those front two baby teeth are still hanging in there, barely, with the two new teeth we found almost a month ago. CJ's mouth actually looks quite red and irritated in that area. Maybe she'll get a Tootsie Roll or something chewy tomorrow that will do the trick in removing at least one of them. I think the tooth fairy might be ready...
* Aaaagh. I just read that this is called shark teeth. And maybe we were supposed to call the dentist....
And here's the mystery photographer herself. Using the old camera she adopted from us. Boy is she going to be disappointed when she sees how fast she fills up that memory stick.
We went up the road for pizza and Halloween treats. This Hershey's Kiss actually ate a few Hershey's Kisses. We are working on the hat for tomorrow. It's a bit big, but so great that our neighbor loaned us this unique costume.
I mean, please meet Jack, CJ's Jack-o-Lantern. She documented the process by taking pictures herself. She used a window cling as her inspiration and had a bit of help from Daddy:
We picked over 5 pounds of tomatoes from the plants today and there are more out there. We'll have to see if these ripen in the bag. And if the plants survive a few more days of rain without splitting all the fruit.
We had kind of a lazy day inside while Daddy worked on the deck stairs out in the rain. CJ was bored, but Mama pulled out some colored paper and CJ got busy.
Yesterday CJ and Mama went shopping for doggie diapers. Big B has held out pretty long, but it was getting to the point that we thought this would help us out.
And today, Mama marked another birthday. Daddy took her out to a yummy dinner last night to celebrate and this morning she opened her gifts. Some even came with handmade custom gift wrap.
We had a busy day. After school we headed to the zoo to meet some friends. We are definitely trying to enjoy as much sun as we can while it is here. Then we picked up Daddy and headed back to school for CJ's conference. We got to see some of her math and writing work as well as a story she is putting together and "love kitten", the sock doll she sewed. So far, so good. She is loving her time there.
We recently heard that there was some new playground equipment at a neighborhood school so we biked over this morning to check it out. It was cool, but sunny and CJ did great riding her bike the few blocks there. She was rewarded with lots of spinning and bouncing on the new toys. Not a bad morning.
When we were walking the dogs tonite we were invited to a neighbor's house for s'mores over a fire pit. Everyone is trying to take advantage of the warm dry weather. And CJ loves s'mores.
Today CJ and Mama planted some tulip and hyacinth bulbs while Daddy planned out the deck stairs. Now we have to wait until spring to see how they will grow.
Here's one of CJ's art creations from the week. The left side is full of hearts and "yes". The right side has some purple polka dotted rain drops and "yuck". We aren't looking forward to a wet winter.
Mama had her computer repaired at the Apple store a few weeks ago. Then she noticed some residual issues so we took it back in today. We were going to leave it for a follow-up repair, but as she was signing the paperwork, one of the "lead geniuses" came out and told us that they were going to go ahead and replace the unit instead of repairing it. After some time for a data transfer, we left with a bit more memory and a slightly bigger hard drive. Nice.
That's what they told Mama at DMV when she brought her stack of documents in to identify herself in order to renew her license. She waited 5 seconds and then could tell by the look on the DMV worker's face that it wasn't a good picture. So she smiled and they re-took the shot. Or maybe the retake was just to get a better look for the facial recognition software. Overall the process was fairly painless and Mama was in and out with her temporary card in just about 25 minutes.
It was warm and sunny this afternoon, but not warm enough for the spray park, so we were glad to find that the new play structure had been installed at a nearby park. CJ had a great time exploring all the new activities.
The old slide was a tall metal one, with very shallow side rails. The new one was not very high off the ground, but didn't have any side rails. CJ didn't mind.
CJ claims to have switched her favorite color from pink to purple. And now she is officially on her purple bike, as we passed the little red one on to a neighbor. She's moving up!
Today was dress up day at CJ's school as they were heading over to a local children's theatre to watch a play. Mama was lucky enough to join them, although CJ acted as if Mama wasn't there at all.
Here's CJ with her latest project at Grandma's. She drew a smiley face and traced it with a special pen for sewing. When she is done she can use water to make the pen marks go away.
