On Friday after swimming we had a picnic in the park and we saw CJ's t-ball coach. He invited us to a 4th of July parade in his neighborhood. So as soon as Daddy and CJ got up this morning, she had Daddy busy decorating her scooter. They used leis, foil, bike lights and CJ made her own flag.
The neighborhood really went all out. When we got there they gave us more necklaces, balloons, flags, bubbles, noise makers. There was even a fire truck that was supposed to lead the parade, but after a few children explored it, it was called away for business. No matter. There were plenty of kids, dogs, scooters, bikes, wagons, parents, etc.
And at the end, there was ice cream, sno-cones or donuts to choose from. I bet we'll be back next year!
