Critters

Daddy picked up this lovely set of chocolate critters for CJ for Valentine's Day. There is a bunny, a mouse, a chocolate lab and a cat. Super cute.

CJ decided to start off by eating the mouse - yum!

A Double

CJ and Mama caught sight of this double rainbow as we were coming across the Broadway Bridge. It was so bright!

Right Back at It

Even before breakfast, Crafty CJ was back at it:
We made heart pancakes - to stick with the theme:

February Love

We pulled out some leftover Valentine's supplies and CJ got right to work. She's making each one unique. Very nice!

Lego Friends

Here's what the tooth Fairy brought:

CJ put it together all by herself!

Amazing that Lego didn't have anything specifically for girls before now.

Another One Bites the Dust

CJ finally wiggled another tooth out. Anxious to see what the tooth fairy brings.

Heading Home

CJ took this picture of all the things she wanted in the airport gift shop
(Mama and Daddy were only in the gift shop because the Super Bowl wasn't on in the terminal)
But the game was on during the flight - Awesome.
Plus there were buffalo wing pretzels to celebrate the day - our own Super Bowl Party.
CJ watched the Puppy Bowl!

Another Day, Another Beach

Seal Beach was CJ's least favorite beach. It was cold. And she saw garbage in the sand. She's a tough beach critic. We'd just missed the day's surf contest.

Mission Hills

We stopped for breakfast in Mission Hills. What a great neighborhood. Beautiful homes.

Bohemian Bike Rack

CJ found this bike rack in an area of San Diego that some describe as "Bohemian". We had a good dinner there. It felt like we could have been back in Portland...

Windansea

We spent the morning driving around San Diego and in the afternoon we rewarded CJ for her patience by taking her to Windansea Beach in La Jolla. This was her favorite beach of the trip - could it be because she made friends and played in the sand with them?

How much do you think those houses cost?
Luckily she's used to bouldering from the climbing gym.
Can you believe how many surfers are out in the water?
And that we're wearing no sleeves? In February?
Ooops - she wasn't fast enough to avoid that wave!

The OC

We stopped at this beach during our drive down to San Diego from Long Beach. It was really beautiful.

Maiden Voyage

Not only the maiden voyage for CJ's new suitcase (thanks, Santa!), but also CJ's first flight. We were up early to make it to the airport on time.
