I Heart Conferences

CJ's school had student-led conferences this time.

CJ showed us around the room so we could see what they have been working on.

We got to listen to her read from one of her favorite books, play some math games and hear about her work learning about the brain, including seeing her art about dreams.

Finally...the Bunny

CJ finally broke into the Easter Bunny tonight after dinner!

She is so good at rationing her treats.

Sweet Flowers

CJ had a check-up today and afterwards we hit the bakery for a little snack.

CJ picked this beautiful flower cookie.  Yum.

Wahclella Falls

We were so excited when our friends called and asked us if we wanted to go for a hike.

We headed to Wahclella Falls for a great hike on such a sunny day.  It was warm walking uphill to the falls, but cool in the shade when we stopped for our picnic lunch.  CJ had fun catching up with her friend and climbing up the big rocks with Daddy.

What a nice way to spend the day.

The Zoo!

It had been a while, but we had some time after school and decided to spend it at the zoo!

We practically had the place to ourselves.

Not only did the sun come out a few times, but the tigers were out of their caves for us to see.

Park Pals

The sun came out, so CJ got to enjoy some time at the park with her cousins.

Goodie Bag Girl

CJ got this fun Lego set as her goodie bag gift for going to her cousin's birthday party last night.

She couldn't wait to put it together.

Secret

We made a last minute visit to Seattle this weekend to celebrate CJ's cousin's birthday a little early.

On the card she made for B, CJ wrote "secret - I can't believe you are 5!"

Slappycakes

Have you ever gone out to make your own breakfast?

We did today.

Mama got a message from some friends, suggesting we meet up for breakfast.

We agreed to meet at Slappycakes.

The kids got to make their own pancakes with a griddle on the table.

CJ chose white chocolate chips and blueberries for her toppings.

Neighborhood Egg Hunt

Today we joined the neighbors a few blocks from home for an egg hunt and potluck.  The weather was awesome so we spent hours outside, soaking in the sunshine.  CJ loaded up on more candy filled eggs.  Several even had money inside - we have nice neighbors!

Easter Basket Treasure Hunt

CJ outsmarted the Bunny this year and ended up finding the treasure (the basket) before finding the small treats along the way and before Mama and Daddy even got up.

She went back and collected the other goodies.  

She seemed pretty happy with her pile of treasure loot!

Egg Hunt #2

CJ wasn't done hunting for eggs and the weather was nice so we stopped by another park

 for a second egg hunt.

We started this sunny Sunday at the egg hunt we've been going to for the last few years.  

CJ was excited that our neighbors met us there.

She was much more successful this year than in past years.

No chocolate for doggies!
